Manage sensitivity levels

Sensitivity levels classify sensitive data from S0 to S5. Higher numbers indicate higher sensitivity and stronger security requirements. Administrators can use sensitivity levels to route approval processes for sensitive data access.

Before you begin​

  • You have created or joined an organization, and this organization has subscribed to either DevOps Pro or DevOps Enterprise. Please ensure that your annual or monthly subscription is still active. For more information, please refer to Manage Organizations.
  • Your current account has switched to the target organization. For more information, please refer to Switching to an Organization.

Procedure​

Delete sensitivity levels​

NineData provides six sensitivity levels from S0 to S5 by default, so deletion is usually unnecessary. If deletion is required, delete levels from high to low. A level can be deleted only when no fields or data types are associated with it. After deletion, restore the level by using Create sensitivity levels.

Notes

  • Sensitivity levels associated with fields or data types cannot be deleted.
  • S0 and S1 cannot be deleted.
  • Sensitivity levels can be deleted only from high to low.

Procedure

  1. Sign in to the NineData Console.

  2. In the left navigation bar, click Datasource>Sensitive Data.
  1. Click the Sensitivity Level tab, then click Delete under the Actions column to the right of the sensitivity level at the bottom.
  2. Click OK in the confirmation dialog.

Edit sensitivity levels​

All sensitivity levels can be edited. Editable fields include Level Color and Description.

  1. Sign in to the NineData Console.

  2. In the left navigation bar, click Datasource>Sensitive Data.
  1. Click the Sensitivity Level tab, then click Edit under the Actions column to the right of the target sensitivity level.
  2. In the Edit Sensitivity Level dialog, select Level Color or modify Description, and then click OK.

Create sensitivity levels​

Use this feature to add deleted sensitivity levels back.

Notes

  • The highest sensitivity level is S5. A sensitivity level higher than S5 cannot be created.
  • Create sensitivity levels only when reserved system levels have been deleted.

Procedure

  1. Sign in to the NineData Console.

  2. In the left navigation bar, click Datasource>Sensitive Data.

  1. Click the Sensitivity Level tab, then click Create Sensitivity Level.

    tip

    If the highest S5 level already exists, the Create Sensitivity Level button is disabled.

  2. In the dialog, select Level Color, optionally enter Description, and click OK.

Result​

Sensitivity levels are updated in the current organization and can be used when configuring sensitive data types or sensitive columns.
