Data Assets
NineData Data Asset centralizes database object assets and provides metadata collection, asset tagging, and detail viewing.
Data Assets are available only in the Enterprise Edition. The Professional and Free Editions do not provide an entry to this module. The Data Assets feature in this SaaS release currently supports MySQL data sources only.
Access the feature
In the console left navigation, select Datasource > Datasource > Data Asset to open the Data Assets page.
The page contains the Asset Management and Collection Management tabs.
Manage assets
On the Asset Management tab, browse assets by application tag and search, view details, and tag objects such as data sources, databases, schemas, tables, and columns.
Search and tag assets
- Select an application tag in the Application Tags area. Select Manage to open tag management and maintain the tag dictionary and tag relationships.
- Select an object tab: Datasource, Database, Schema, Tables, or Columns.
- Filter assets by application tag, object type, environment, tag, or Owner, or use Search to search for an object.
- Select Add Tag for one object, or select multiple objects and then select Batch Tagging to tag them in batches.
- Select Details in the results to view object details.
View asset details
The asset details page contains the Overview, Structure, and Tags tabs.
- Overview: Supports text, headings, lists, and hyperlinks. When no overview is available, enter overview edit mode to add content.
- Structure: View the object hierarchy from data source to database or schema, table, and column, and open the next level of objects.
- Field information: For a column, view Field Info, Data Type, Sensitivity Level, isNullable, Column Comment, and Default.
- Tags: The tag tab shows only non-system category tags and provides entry points for adding tags and selecting Tag Manage. For tag definitions and categories, see Tag Management.
Manage collection
On the Collection Management tab, open Instance Collection Management to manage version retention, collection frequency, and collection blacklist by data source instance.
- Filter instances by environment, data source type, version management status, or collection status.
- In the instance list, view the database count, Collection Frequency / Start Interval, Collected At, Latest Collection Result, and Status.
- For a target instance, select Configure to configure collection rules, Collection Log to view collection records, or Collect Now to start a collection immediately.
- In Source Collection Config, configure Enable Versioning, Frequency, Start Hour Range, and Exclusion List. Blacklist rules use regular expressions against the selected object types; matching objects are excluded from collection.
- After you save a data-source-specific configuration, it applies only to the current data source. A later batch configuration can override it.
Select multiple instances and select Batch Configure Collection to configure collection rules in one operation. After you save, the configuration overrides the selected data sources; unselected data sources are not affected.
The collection list shows the latest collection result and current collection status. When collection fails, view the failure reason in the collection records.
