Guides Overview
Start with Guides when you need to complete a product workflow from beginning to end. Each guide is organized around an outcome and links to the tasks and prerequisites for that workflow.
Guides focus on tasks: they explain the sequence of actions and how to check the result. For product support matrices, version compatibility, terminology, or legal terms, see Reference. Data source, account, alert, system configuration, edition, and deployment documentation is under Admin; billing documentation is under Billing.
If you are new to NineData, choose a guide based on your goal: migrate or synchronize data, manage database changes, use AI-assisted SQL workflows, protect data, compare migration results, or perform routine database operations.
Choose a guide
| Goal | Start here |
|---|---|
| Migrate, synchronize, or integrate data across databases | Data Replication |
| Review SQL, manage schema changes, archive data, or collaborate on database development | Database DevOps |
| Query data from a browser-based SQL workspace or visual query workflow | SQL Console, Text2SQL |
| Use AI-assisted SQL generation, optimization, or review workflows | AI features |
| Protect data with backup policies or restore from backup sets | Backup and restore |
| Compare schemas or data across databases | Data comparison |
What each guide covers
| Guide | Typical workflow | Use it when |
|---|---|---|
| Data Replication | Prepare source and target data sources, create a replication task, run prechecks, start synchronization, and review results. | You are migrating data, synchronizing in real time, preparing for disaster recovery, or integrating downstream systems. |
| Database DevOps | Use the SQL Console, manage SQL execution, review changes, manage permissions, and audit database operations. | You need standardized database development and operational change management. |
| AI SQL tools | Use AI-assisted SQL generation, review, optimization, ChatDBA, and related knowledge workflows. | You need help writing, reviewing, explaining, or optimizing SQL and database operations. |
| Backup and restore | Create backup policies, review backup sets, and restore data when needed. | You need data recovery options and operational protection for supported data sources. |
| Data comparison | Compare schemas or data between source and target systems and review differences. | You need to validate migration, replication, or synchronization results. |
