Configure an alert policy

NineData provides an alert function. User need to create an alert policy publish and receive alerts. This article describes how to create alert policies and customize alert rules.

Create an alert policy

Prerequisite

Steps

  1. Log in to NineData console.

  2. In the left navigation pane, click Alert > Alert Policy.

  3. On the Alert Policy tab, click Create Policy in the upper right corner.

  4. On the Create Policy page, configure according to the following table.

    Parameters
    Descpition
    NameEnter the name of the policy. For the convenience of subsequent search and management, try to use a meaningful name. Up to 24 characters are supported.
    Task TypeSelect the task type to be monitored. The supported task types are as follows: Backup, Restore, Replication, Data Comparison, Schema Comparison, Gateway
    Related TasksSelect the tasks to be monitored, and click more tasks to make multiple selections. alert policies can only be associated with tasks of the corresponding task type. For example, when the Task Type is Backup , only the task list of Backup is displayed here.
    Note : Creation of an alert policy is only supported after the corresponding task created.
    Alert rulesSelect an alert rule. The alert rule contains the conditions for triggering the alert and the publication method of the alert. NineData provides a default alert rule, which is only through SMS. If you need to customize alert rules , click Create Now below the rules list.
    Alert Reception (methods including text messages, phone calls, emails)Select the destination of the alert delivery. The following options are supported:
    • User: users who have registed with NineData.
    • Receiver Group: The receiving group. If not created yet, click Create Now below the receiving group list. For more information, see Configuring Alert Receiver.
    Description: This option is only displayed when the Method of the alert rule contains text messages, phone calls, or emails.
    Feishu/DingTalk/WeCom Webhook (the alert method is Webhook)Select the webhook to use. For how to create a Webhook, please refer to Create a Webhook.
    Note: This option is only displayed when Feishu/DingTalk/WeChat Webhook is included in the Method of the alert rule.
  5. Click Create Policy.

Create alert rules

  1. Log in to NineData console.

  2. In the left navigation pane, click Alert > Alert Policy.

  3. Click the Alert Rules tab, and click Create Rule in the upper right corner.

  4. On the Create Rule page, configure according to the following table.

    Desciption
    NameEnter the name of the policy. For the convenience of subsequent search and management, try to use a meaningful name. Up to 24 characters are supported.
    Task TypeSelect the task type corresponding to the rule. The supported task types are as follows: Backup, Restore, Replication, Data Comparison, Schema Comparison, Gateway
    Alert conditionSelect the condition of the alert, which is displayed in the form of a logical expression in the console, include:
    • Status : Alerts when the task fails to run.
    • Backup Time : alerts when the full backup time is greater than the threshold.
    • Log Latency : When the log backup delay is greater than the threshold, an alert is issued.
    • Latency : alerts when the replication delay is greater than the threshold.
    • : Alert when the periodic full replication task has not completed by the configured time each day.
    • : Alert when the runtime of the replication task exceeds the threshold.
    • Comparison Time : When the comparison time is greater than the threshold, an alert is issued.
    • Results : When the comparison result is inconsistent , an alert is issued.
    • Gateway Status : Alerts when the gateway status is abnormal.
    Note : When there are multiple conditions in the task type, you can click Add to configure multiple conditions. As long as one of the conditions is met, the alert will be triggered.
    Alert modeSelect the alert deliver method, which can be more than one. Support SMS, phone, email, Webhook (Dingding, Feishu, WeCom).
  5. Click Create Rule.
