Configure Alert Policies

NineData provides alert functionality, and you need to create an alert policy to enable the push function of alert messages. This article introduces how to create an alert policy and customize alert rules.

Create an Alert Policy

Operation Steps

  1. Log in to the NineData Console.

  2. Click on Alert>Alert Policy in the left navigation bar.

  3. On the Alert Policy tab, click on the Create Policy in the upper right corner.

  4. On the Create Policy page, configure according to the table below.

    Parameter
    Description
    NameEnter the name of the policy. To facilitate subsequent search and management, please use a meaningful name as much as possible. Up to 24 characters are supported.
    Task TypeSelect the type of task to be monitored. The supported task types are as follows:
    • Backup
    • Restore
    • Replication
    • Data Comparison
    • Schema Comparison
    • Gateway
    Related TasksSelect the task to be monitored. Clicking on different tasks allows for multiple selections. The alert policy can only be associated with tasks of the corresponding task type. For example, when Task Type is Backup, only the task list of Backup is displayed here.
    Note: Alert policies can only be created if the corresponding tasks have been created.
    New tasks automatically startChoose whether to automatically associate newly created tasks of the same type.
    Alert RulesSelect the alert rule. The alert rule includes the conditions for triggering an alert and the method of alert push. NineData provides a default alert rule that only pushes alerts via SMS. If you need to customize alert rules, please click on Create Now below the rule list.
    Alert Reception(Alert method is SMS, phone call, email)Select the target for alert push. The following options are supported:
    • User: Users who have joined NineData.
    • Receiver Group: Created receiver groups. If not created yet, please click on Create Now below the receiver group list. For more information, please refer to Configure Alert Reception.
    Note: This option is only displayed when the Methods in the alert rule includes any of SMS, phone call, or email.
    Feishu/DingTalk/WeCom Webhook(Alert method is Webhook)Select the Webhook to be used. How to create a Webhook, please refer to Create Webhook.
    Note: This option is only displayed when the Methods in the alert rule includes Feishu/DingTalk/WeCom Webhook.
  5. Click on Create Policy.

Create Alert Rules

  1. Log in to the NineData Console.

  2. Click on Alert>Alert Policy in the left navigation bar.

  3. Click on the Alert Rules tab and click on the Create Rule in the upper right corner.

  4. On the Create Rule page, configure according to the table below.

    Description
    NameEnter the name of the policy. To facilitate subsequent search and management, please use a meaningful name as much as possible. Up to 24 characters are supported.
    Task TypeSelect the task type corresponding to the rule. The supported task types are as follows:
    • Backup
    • Restore
    • Replication
    • Data Comparison
    • Schema Comparison
    • Gateway
    Alert ConditionSelect the alert condition, which is displayed in the console in the form of a logical expression. Includes:
    • Status: Alert when the task fails.
    • Backup Time: Alert when the full backup time is greater than the threshold.
    • Log Latency: Alert when the log backup delay is greater than the threshold.
    • Latency: Alert when the replication delay is greater than the threshold.
    • Periodic Status: After reaching the user-configured time point, check whether the periodic full replication task has been completed. If not completed, alert.
    • Runtime: Alert when the replication task's running time is greater than the threshold.
    • Comparison Time: Alert when the comparison time is greater than the threshold.
    • Results: Alert when the comparison result is Inconsistency.
    • Gateway Status: Alert when the gateway status is abnormal.

    Note: When there are multiple conditions in the task type, you can click on Add to configure multiple conditions. As long as one of the conditions is met, an alert will be triggered.
    Alert MethodsSelect the alert method, which can be single or multiple selections. Supports SMS, phone call, email, Webhook (DingTalk, Lark, WeChat Work).
  5. Click on Create Rule.
